El Gavilan (Ecuador) – CURRENT STAFF PICK! This is the first crop ever that we’ve gotten from Ecuador, and it is a delicious inaugural lot. Ecuador is located between Colombia and Peru, and El Gavilan combines the tastes of the stone-fruit brightness of La Golondrina (Colombia) with the slightly-chocolatey smoothness of La Frontera (Peru). A medium body and a silky mouthfeel make this an absolute delight in the cup. Not only that, El Gavilan is Certified Organic and Counter Culture Direct Trade Certified. Make sure you try this wonderful new coffee – as the Staff Pick, you can get it for $2 off the pound price!
La Frontera (Peru) - For the past few years, we’ve brought you coffee from a tiny area in northern Peru called Valle del Santuario. This year, our roaster has expanded its sources, as farmers in that region improved their crops after seeing the success of the Valle del Santuario farmers. Named “La Frontera,” which means, “the border,” attribution is given to those farmers (including the Valle del Santuario farmers) that so carefully grow their coffee near Peru’s northern border. This crop is absolutely delicious, rich, smooth, satisfying – a great, all-around, crowd-pleaser. It is Certified Organic, as well as Counter Culture Direct Trade Certified.
